BioSHE SHUTS THE ROOM DOWN What is known is that Katherine studied and earned her degree to be a certified psychiatric nurse who came into the employment of Doctor Tom Jackman and Mister Hyde. The job came to her attention when Tom's mother came to her and encouraged her to take it. At first she was skeptical but upon the interview she knew there was no other case like this that she had seen before. Under the employment of both Jackman and Hyde, she was obligated to ensure that they kept within the agreements with one another. She was more of a 'nanny' to Hyde which would explain him adopting the nickname of 'Mary Poppins' for her while to Jackman she was a colleague of sorts. She kept their secrets from one another: she never told Hyde that Jackman was married and she flat out refused to tell Jackman whatever woman Hyde was seeing. When Jackman had originally objected to her keeping quiet about whom Hyde was seeing she flat out stated that she worked for both of them. Over the course of her employment Katherine, even knowing that Jackman was married, started to fall in love with him despite warnings from his mother. Through out the mini-series she had shown loyalty to both Jackman and Hyde especially after her less-than-intelligent move of turning off the power and drugging Jackman to find proof that the woman she was also working for was, indeed, his mother. "As long as the lights and cameras are on, you're safe." That was the agreement she had with Hyde. And because of her bold move she was nearly killed by Hyde who spared only by the stroke of luck that was making him laugh when she told him who she was also working for. Later on, when Jackman fled when Klein and Utterson moved in to take control, Katherine began to work with Miranda, a private investigator who had originally been hired by Mrs. Jackman to spy on her husband in the beginning, and her lover Min, to help Jackman. A time came when the three women went to Klein and Utterson to try and expose them for their cloning experiments and drive to discover Jekyll's potion. It very nearly cost them their life had it not been for a power outage that blacked out the entire city. before the guards could fire their guns at them they escaped into the woods. It was there that they managed to capture a guard of their own and keep him tied up in Jackman's old apartment. It was the only way they could keep the company off their trail, not to mention to try and find out any information they could on where Jackman's family had been taken. The last time Katherine is seen in the series is when she finds Jackman at hsi desk, preparing to leave for one last time. No longer would she be working for him. Both he and Hyde were working together and pulling a 'double-shift' as he called it so there was no need for a third party to play coordinator/negotiator. Needless to say Katherine was upset by this but she did not make anything of it. At his request she left him alone and went back to bed only to find in the morning that he had left to save his family. |
